Every canvas on this page starts primed and blank. Move the brush and it paints itself in, one stroke at a time, under your own hand.
A working gallery for painters, printmakers and the people who buy what they make.
GILTMERE carries original paintings straight from the easel, numbered print editions pulled from them afterward, honest works on paper, and the studio materials behind all three. Nothing here is mass produced, and nothing here pretends to be.
A thin wash of warm colour across raw canvas, so no white ever shows through the final piece. Every painting in this gallery starts exactly here.
Sixteen pieces, four ways to take one home.
Nothing matches that search.
We started as a framer's back room and never really left it.
GILTMERE began stretching other people's canvases before it sold a single painting of its own. The gallery floor came later, once enough of those painters asked where else their work could hang. We still cut our own mounts, still mix our own varnish, and still turn away work we would not hang in our own hallway.
Every print in the gallery is pulled from the original it is named after, numbered by hand, and retired for good once the edition closes. We would rather sell out of a print than reprint it.
This page is a demonstration.
GILTMERE is not a real gallery. Every painter, piece and price-equivalent control on this page was invented to show what a storefront like this could look and feel like — nothing shown here is for sale, and nothing you add to the collection drawer below can be checked out. This page was built by OJ Scales as a sample of our own work, not a rebuild of any real business.
- Every painting thumbnail on this page is rendered live by the browser from code, not a photograph — there is no borrowed artwork anywhere on this site.
- The brush that paints the hero canvas responds only to your cursor. It never plays on its own and never moves without you.
- "Add to collection" keeps a running count in this browser tab only. Nothing is saved, charged, or sent anywhere.
